He served as Chief of Surgery and Chief of the Medical Staff at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice, and held the offices of Treasurer, Vice-President, and President of the St. Landry Parish Medical Society. Having lost his mother to lung cancer while he was living in Eunice, he felt compelled to move back to the Northshore with his wife, Dody, when his father was diagnosed with esophageal cancer.

Maintaining fellowship status, he is a Fellow of both the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons (FASMBS) and the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and is a Volunteer Site Surveyor for MBSAQIP. He also serves as the Chief of Medical Staff at Southern Surgical Hospital in Slidell, and has maintained quality healthcare for patients in the area.

Bariatric surgery (or weight loss surgery) includes a variety of procedures performed on people who are obese.
