She then relocated to the United States, performing her residency in internal medicine at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia in 2010 and her fellowship in rheumatology at SUNY-Downstate Medical Center.
Board-certified in both internal medicine and rheumatology, the doctor is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Continuously advancing her efforts, Dr. Vargas is an active member of the American College of Rheumatology and the American College of Physicians, New York Chapter.
Rheumatology is a branch of medicine devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic diseases. Physicians who have undergone formal training in rheumatology are called rheumatologists. Rheumatologists treat arthritis, autoimmune diseases, and osteoporosis.
