Kisat Diabetes Organization hosts 7th annual 5k Walk and Health fair in Warrenville IL on Sunday August 6th 2023

Annual 5K walk at the St. James farm Pavilion, on Sunday August 6th 2023. The event offers free screening for diabetes followed by 5k walk, fun educational games, smoothie bike, slide show, diabetes quiz and a healthy Lunch.


Warrenville, Illinois Aug 2, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - Kisat Diabetes Organization is staging its Annual 5K walk at the St. James farm Pavilion, in Warrenville on Sunday August 6th 2023. The event starts 8.00 am sharp with free screening for diabetes followed by 5k walk, fun educational games, smoothie bike, slide show, diabetes quiz and a healthy Lunch. The event concludes at noon.

Registration is required for the walk. Each participant will be given a tote bag with water bottle and a healthy snack.  

Diabetes is a growing global health concern that affects all age groups and genders. Analysts predict a worldwide prevalence of 552 million people with diabetes by 2030.

"Losing a loved one from diabetes is very traumatic", says Dr. Chalisa, the founder of Kisat Diabetes Organization. Being a Clinical Endocrinologist, I've seen the challenges a patient with diabetes has to face over their lifetime. Watching my own father die from complications of diabetes completely changed my outlook on life and ignited my passion to help people with diabetes. This led to the foundation of Kisat Diabetes organization.

Kisat Diabetes Organization was founded in 2017 with the mission of creating awareness & providing resources and education about diabetes to those in need. In addition to an annual 5k walk, our organization hosts several events throughout the year conducting free diabetes screening, educational events for individuals, communities, senior centers and also works in collaboration with other organizations.

We are proud to announce that  Kisat Diabetes has collaborated with many other organizations since its foundation, including the American Diabetes Association.

According to Dr. Nuzhat Chalisa, diabetes does not have to be a death sentence. Today, we are fortunate to be in an era when advancement in research, New medications and technology have made diabetes a more manageable disease. With the implementation of latest technology, medications and tools one can completely prevent complications from diabetes. Our organization aims at providing and promoting education about the latest technology and resources.
