He then went on to complete his residency in anesthesiology at the University of Texas (Houston Medical Center Branch), and his fellowship in pain medicine at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center where he trained under his mentor, Dr. Allen W. Burton, MD. He also received extensive training in cancer and non-cancer pain management.

Active in his field, Dr. Jones is a member of the North American Neuromodulation Society, the Spine Intervention Society, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, and the American Society of Anesthesiologists.

Specializing in innovative, minimally invasive pain treatments and surgeries, he is affiliated with HonorHealth Deer Valley Medical Center, HonorHealth John C. Lincoln Medical Center, and HonorHealth Scottsdale Osborn Medical Center.

Pain management is a branch of medicine employing an interdisciplinary approach to easing the suffering and improving the quality of life of those living with chronic pain.
