Victoria’s Secret said it notified Romee Strijd’s representatives on September 6 that she was no longer being considered for its 2026 fashion show, after the model publicly criticized the casting process.

In a statement to Vanity Fair, a brand representative said Victoria’s Secret and casting director Piergiorgio Del Moro had communicated the decision directly to her representation. The company said it could not comment on exchanges between models and their representatives, while expressing appreciation for Strijd’s work with the brand.

Strijd, a 31-year-old Dutch model, said on social media that she had repeatedly sought updates from IMG over several weeks. She wanted a clearer explanation for not being selected and said the uncertainty took up time as she managed family responsibilities with two children.

Although she said she accepted the rejection, Strijd expressed dissatisfaction with her treatment and said she did not think she would participate in casting again. A former Victoria’s Secret Angel, she appeared in the show from 2014 to 2018 and wore the Shooting Star Swarovski look during the 2018 finale.
